Income tax raids at Greater Noida Authority General Managers residences : The Income Tax department carried out raids at five locations in Noida and Greater Noida on Friday. The raids conducted belonged to a builder and officials employed at Noida and Greater Noida Authority. The IT personnel visited three residences in Noida and two in Greater Noida. The IT officials spent hours scanning the documents at every house and said to have gathered proofs against such officials in disproportionate assets case.
The Income Tax Probe Team started its raid from the residence of KP Singh. Mr. Singh, resident of C-33, Sector 40, works in Greater Noida Authority. Officials arrived at his residence at 8:30 am in the morning. The team of police men and IT officials later headed towards the residence of Kasana builders in the same sector. The officials scanned the documents and left his house after a couple of hours.Later on, the team proceeded towards its next target - the residence of RP Burman at C-23, Sector 50.
Mr. Burman works as a senior accountant in Noida Authority. While talking to the reporters, the police officials deployed outside the houses said, "A team of 10 to 12 IT officials started the raid from Sector 40 since 8:30 am in the morning. We are completely unaware of the reason behind the raids."A team of IT officials also raided two places in Greater Noida. They reached the residences of Lalit Vikram GM (Finance) and Ravindra Tongar GM (Property) in Greater Noida Authority. Sources also claimed that Mr. Tongar was sent to some hospital in an ambulance after the IT team landed his house.
